There’s a lot to love about the Austrian designer Rudi Gernreich: the monokini (a highly designed way of going topless) the pubikini (let’s not get into that) and his advocacy of unisex clothing (although it’s looking kinda girlish to me now).

He was one of the first designers in the ‘6os to use plastic and vinyl, which thankfully is not an enduring trend.

According to Wikipedia’s translation of his German bio, Gernreich “chose to devote himself to cooking and selling soup” later in life.

I wonder what his apron looked like…
